The Best Under Desk Walking Treadmills for Small Spaces

I’m all about efficiency over here! Trying to juggle work and home life can be a lot with little kids. I found that it was hard to squeeze in time to work out, until I got an under desk treadmill.

I knew I didn’t want a treadmill desk taking up my whole space, so I started hunting for the best under-desk treadmill I could actually use every day without it becoming a dust collector.

When you’re growing a business, it’s hard to step away during the day. Working at a desk is such a sedentary lifestyle.

When you’re building a business, stepping away for a workout isn’t always realistic. Sitting at a desk all day gets old fast, but adding a daily walk while answering emails has been a total game changer to keep burnout at bay.

That’s where the walking pad treadmill comes in. It’s a super easy and sneaky way to move more without leaving your house. I fell in love with mine (found here), which is why I wanted to share my honest walking pad treadmill review.

I loved it so much that I found one for my parents, too. Their folding treadmill easily fits under a queen size bed where as mine folds in half.

What I looked for in an under desk treadmill

As someone who spends long hours at the desk, I was searching for a way to incorporate more physical activity into my daily routine. I researched the best walking pads and best under-desk treadmills for my home office and found two that fit what I needed.

I specifically wanted something that:

  • Folded in half and fit under my sofa

  • Was not a permanent fixture at my desk

  • Had a variety of speeds

I knew I did not want to buy a standing desk because I love the navy blue desk I have. Plus, I often have people in my office, and I wanted to be able to have a table and desk where we could easily socialize.

So I opted for a WalkingPad model that could pair with a desk riser.

Why I picked the WalkingPad C1

I found the WalkingPad brand and really liked it. Specifically the WalkingPad C1 was a good fit for me as it was one of the more budget-friendly options. It has been a game changer for my productivity and health.

Initially, I was hesitant that it might become another piece of exercise equipment collecting dust, but that's not the case! I use it on a daily basis.

By using my new walking pad every day, I have managed to increase my average daily step count by a minimum of 5K, but often times 10K. The WalkingPad treadmills are the best option out there. They're easy to set up.

If you're looking for a convenient and great way to stay active, consider investing in a walking pad treadmill!

I thought I'd answer some key questions about having a walking pad treadmill.

The WalkingPad Treadmill: The best for people working from home

After doing hours and hours of research, I settled on the The WalkingPad treadmill, (which you can find here) and I am so glad I did. It is quite literally perfect!!

It's the best walking pad for WFH people that want an active lifestyle. The foldable walking treadmill is an excellent choice if you're looking to add daily walking to your routine.

The WalkingPad P1 treadmill (found here on Amazon) is a foldable treadmill that is designed with an ultra-slim high strength aluminum frame, making it easy to store under a bed or sofa when not in use.

The overall dimensions are a great size. It's 57" deep  x 20.7" wide x 4.6" high. Plus it has a powerful motor and then running belt never slips.

The smart gravity foot sensing speed control helps prevent fall risk, and the wireless remote control features a high-definition screen with speed, time, and calorie display.

Made with high-quality materials, including a patent wear-resisting EVA buffer layer and a high-density wooden board running board, this durable walking pad is suitable for both walking and jogging.

I once messaged customer support and got a response the same day, which was a nice surprise. Plus, the customer reviews for the product are incredible!

I love that this treadmill has a foldable design. It also features manual mode and automatic mode, which you can control from a mobile app or a remote. I always use the remote and always use manual mode.

It's definitely one of the best foldable walking pads. I am able to take zoom meetings without an issue because of the quiet motor.

It's a basic walking pad with about 4.0 miles per hour max speed. The speed range is perfect for walking. You can walk slowly or power walk.

While I use this in my office, I've also seen people use it in their living room as a mini treadmill to walk on for weight loss and general activity.

If you are using it to work, you'll need a work surface like a rising desk.

The Urevo Treadmill: Great for super small spaces

I loved my treadmill so much that I bought one for my parents, too. They needed a slightly different set up because it was not going to be used with a desk.

Also, they needed something that would store under a queen bed with a metal frame.

The Urevo Under Desk Treadmill is truly the slimmest treadmill on the market. It is ideal for flexible (or maybe I should say spatially inflexible!) spaces. You can find it here

The UREVO foldable treadmill is a safe and fun addition to any home gym, with a unique handrail design that reduces the risk of falls and injuries for all ages.

Its upgraded brushless motor provides quiet and powerful performance, and the large LED data display with touch screen control makes it easy to adjust settings.

With Bluetooth connectivity to the UREVO sports app, users can access personalized workout reports. UREVO also provides excellent customer service, with a 100% satisfaction guarantee and a quick response time within 24 hours.

What is the maximum speed of the Walking Pad Treadmill?

The WalkingPad Treadmill is different than regular treadmills. Its compact design and ease of use make it a favorite among fitness enthusiasts that are looking for a brisk walk.

The maximum speed of the Walking Pad Treadmill is 4 mph. The Walking Pad has a lower speed than traditional treadmills.

However, it is important to remember that it is designed for walking, not running. Everyone has different needs and if maintaining a healthy lifestyle by walking is part of your goals, you'll love this compact treadmill.

In fact, the Walking Pad's unique design and features are specifically tailored to walking. It’s light enough for me to scoot around when I need to, and the walking surface feels surprisingly solid, not cheap or wobbly like I expected.

I'm able to move mine inside of 30 seconds to set up for a meeting. It's one of the best things about it.

One of my favorite features is the included remote control that allows you to easily adjust the speed, making it ideal for users of all fitness levels.

Is the Walking Pad Treadmill foldable?

Yes, both Walking Pad Treadmills are foldable. They collapse super easily to store as well!

I have a petite couch in my office and can easily store it under the couch when guests are over. One of the reasons it's so popular is because it is ultra-thin.

In fact, it was designed with a unique folding mechanism that allows users to fold it up into a compact size that can be stored under the bed, in a closet, or other small spaces.

This feature makes the Walking Pad Treadmill an ideal option for users who have limited space in their homes, apartments, or condos.

How long does it take to assemble the Walking Pad Treadmill?

Set up was incredibly easy. To set up the WalkingPadC1, I unfolded it, aligned the belt and then had to walk 1 mile for it to regulate. All of the reviews on Amazon talk about how easy set up is!

The Urevo Under Desk Treadmill was also extremely easy to set up. The balance bar had to be secured to the machine with an allen wrench. I did not have to walk to regulate the running belt.

Set up time took me about 15 minutes for both machines.

How much noise does the WalkingPad Folding Treadmill make?

Many people often wonder how much noise this treadmill makes.

It’s quiet enough that I can take Zoom calls while walking—and no one’s ever noticed. It honestly surprised me!

It’s not silent, you can hear a soft hum while you walk, but it’s quiet enough that I’ve never had anyone ask about it during calls. It stays quiet even when the treadmill is in operation, making it an ideal choice for those who want to work out without disturbing others in the same room or neighboring apartments.

I find that while I’m walking on it, I can hear it like a regular treadmill. However, when I’m in meetings or on zoom calls, no one can hear the treadmill.

The Walking Pad Treadmill has a noise level of about 62 decibels when in use, which is relatively lower than most treadmills in the market.

This makes it a great option for anyone who may live in apartments, condos, or shared living spaces where noise can be a concern.

Is the Walking Pad Treadmill compatible with fitness tracking apps?

Yes, the Walking Pad Treadmill is compatible with various fitness tracking apps. I personally have not connected it to any fitness apps, but I know the capability exists.

This innovative piece of fitness equipment is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, which enables it to synchronize with your smartphone or tablet.

By pairing the Walking Pad Treadmill with a compatible fitness tracking app, you can keep track of your workout progress, monitor your heart rate, track your calorie burn, and more.

Some of the most popular fitness tracking apps that are compatible with the Walking Pad Treadmill include Fitbit, Apple Health, and Google Fit.

To get started, simply download the app of your choice onto your device and follow the instructions for connecting it to the Walking Pad Treadmill. Once connected, you can start using the app to track and analyze your fitness data in real-time.

In addition to fitness tracking apps, the Walking Pad Treadmill is also compatible with other fitness devices, such as heart rate monitors and smartwatches.

By combining the Walking Pad Treadmill with these devices and apps, you can create a comprehensive fitness tracking system that helps you achieve your goals and stay motivated.

How easy is it to store the Walking Pad Treadmill?

Honestly, it’s super simple. If you’re short on space—whether it’s in your apartment, home office, or just don’t want a treadmill out all the time—this one’s made for that.

It folds down to just 2.25 inches thick, so you can easily slide it under a bed, tuck it into a closet, or lean it against a wall. It’s also got built-in wheels, which makes moving it around way easier than a regular treadmill.

The design is lightweight but still sturdy, and it doesn’t feel bulky at all.

If you've seen people talking about it online, there's a reason—it's compact, easy to store, and doesn’t take over your space. Definitely worth it if you want something practical that won’t get in the way.WalkingPad vs. Urevo: Comparing the Best Under Desk Treadmills
