The Weekly Haul: 10.5.21

I’m super excited to share that we’re starting a new weekly series called The Weekly Haul.  We tried to get a little cute with it since we own The Marketing Greenhouse.  Let’s see if the name sticks!

Every week, Jessie and I will be sharing a weekly update — consider it our version of Coffee Talk — and my new version of life lately.  It’s a great way for us to stay in touch with our readers outside of the podcast.  Plus, it’s free flow writing, which is my favorite.  This week, I’m most excited to get back to this place — giggling with my partner back in the office!

What happened this week:

Each week has been a doozy for me leading up to the move.  Since we pivoted our childcare plans and Jessie has been on maternity leave, it has really felt like whack-a-mole.  I also started the third trimester, and it hit me like a ton of bricks.

It’s funny because my best friend said the third trimester was hard with your second, so I almost knew to expect it but then BOOM. My heart palpitations are back (unfortunately) and that landed me in Obstetrics Triage this week unexpectedly.  I’m OK and so is baby (phew!)  Luckily, all is healthy and we can get back to regularly scheduled programming.

We have our family photos with Lauren Michelle on Saturday, and I’m very excited!  It’s a mini shoot, which is even better.  I don’t think The Herrmannitos could have handled a full shoot this year, ha!  Plus, we’ll do one again soon with baby boy arriving.

What’s on my mind:

I’m focused on all things MOVE!  We are starting our move next week and will be fully settled by the end of next week.  It will have been SIX months since I’ve been in my own bed and EIGHT months since we sold our home.  That was not the plan, but we found the perfect spot, which I shared the details about here, and I can’t wait to give you a house tour soon!

What we’re working on:

Jessie and I are super focused on holidays brand collaborations as well as Q1 2022 plans.  I’ll be going out on maternity leave at the end of the year, so there’s lots of planning ahead of time.  We’ve recently right-sized our workload (which meant a few hard conversations with clients), but we’re pumped with where we landed.  We have a big project we’re trying to tackle by the end of the year that we can share with you all in January.

What I’m looking forward to:

Normalcy.  It’s been a LONG six months of no routine (especially coming right out of the first COVID spike) with changing locations, everything in storage, variable childcare plans.  I’m so ready to have our own home again, establish new routines (that we can keep), and just be boring, HA!  Although we won’t be boring for long because baby boy is right around the corner….

Until next week…

Meet Jen

I’ve always had a love affair with creation. Since I was a child, I handmade my gifts or combined toys to design something new. Fast forward twenty years, and I’m still making my gifts every holiday and designing new ways to do things.
