Meet Our Contributor, Kelly Summerfield

Hi GMP Readers!

My name is Kelly Summerfield, and I am the face behind Passports & Cappuccinos, a Milwaukee based travel and lifestyle blog. I am so excited to share my travels with you, and shed a little light on the fun lifestyle Milwaukee brings!

About Me

I was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, but currently live in Milwaukee with my husband, Brian, and our bunny, Minute. After college, Brian and I moved to Wisconsin to pursue my career in advertising and his teaching career. While I am a travel junkie at heart, I also love snuggling up at home with a good movie and a scented candle. I love cool weather, coffees and taking photos everywhere I go. A lot of my inspiration comes from travel articles or even seeing where others are going on Instagram and social media.

Our Trip to Iceland

Ok, now to the good stuff! Brian and I got married this past September, and waited until June to take our honeymoon to IcelandThe first question we got asked when we told people we were going to Iceland was, “Why Iceland?” And to be honest, it’s a very simple answer. We wanted an adventure!

Our Icelandic Honeymoon

While sitting on the beach and enjoying tropical beverages did sound amazing, we didn’t want to waste an opportunity to see the world and go somewhere a little outside the box. Iceland has so much to offer, from great local food to incredible sightseeing and hiking.

Since we waited nine months to take our honeymoon, we had time to save for the trip and really plan out our itinerary. We ended up planning a jam-packed, 8-day tour to see almost everything the country had to offer, and we are so glad we did.

Planning was a lot of work, and consisted of many nights researching and mapping our routes; and I’m not gonna lie… it was stressful at times. But, as we reflected on our flight back home, we said to each other, “we wouldn’t have had it any other way.”

Walking Around Reykjavik

Want to know how we planned our honeymoon to Iceland? Stay tuned for my post next week on what the process looked like, what we saw, and where we ended up staying! In the meantime, feel free to check out more Iceland posts on Passports & Cappuccinos.

Meet Jen

I’ve always had a love affair with creation. Since I was a child, I handmade my gifts or combined toys to design something new. Fast forward twenty years, and I’m still making my gifts every holiday and designing new ways to do things.
