Well, hi there! It’s been a hot minute since I jumped on and wrote a life lately. I find that if I’m not writing consistently, blogging slips away from me quickly. It’s almost like when you get into a groove of going to the gym and then you miss a day. And then you miss 10 more days in a row. Time to get back into the groove of writing!
If we’re being honest, this winter has been tough. Aside from grey Chicago winter, Emmie has been sick a lot (yay for the first year of daycare!) and Matt and/or I have caught every cold. I often feel like Chicago winter is this 90-day marathon where you’re fighting to keep yourself motivated & moving towards the spring. Anyone else with me?
Emmie just got over the flu and an ear infection. Now, I’m battling a head cold. One of us has been consistently sick since the second week of January. So, hopefully, after this head cold, we’re smooth sailing into spring. We were together non-stop for the last 10 days, which is a long time! I don’t know how stay-at-home moms do it. They have the patience of angels.
After a successful 2019, I took some time to grasp my footing again and restructure some components to my business. See, the funny thing is, nearly 70% of my revenue is actually consulting. It’s not events or even brand collaborations. While I still love those, I still really, really love consulting. Consulting doesn’t fit within the ‘Girl Meets Party’ name though, so I re-branded to my own name. I’m now Jen Naye Herrmann & Company, and I’m also working on a new venture with a few friends. I can’t share the details on that quite yet though.
I’ve been taking Julie Solomon’s Influencer Academy, and it’s really helped to drive clarity for me. Suree (God, do I love Suree) is helping me to restructure the website and Kelly Etz from The Babe Shop is working on a logo facelift. I’m hoping all of these pieces will officially come to life by April 1st! Until then, it’s time to keep my head down and keep on trucking! Until next time …
